Wet Stack Constructions – Condensation Analysis

Wet stacks have gained popularity worldwide as the use of Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems has increased and many owners have decided not to reheat the water saturated flue gas emitted by the wet FGD system.

This study report provides a quantitative analysis of the formation of flue gas condensate in wet stacks downstream of wet FGD systems. The study report compares different chimney flue types and shows, how the use of Pennguard^TM lined flues can help to limit condensate formation during start-up conditions.
